Saturday 16 November 2019: 10am – 5pm
Following the huge success of last year’s International Christmas Fair where we raised just over € 6,500, we are busy planning for a bigger and better one this year! This year, it will be held on a Saturday to enable working people and children to attend. There will be fun events for children, including a stall where they can paint a wooden toy of their choice, face painting and a photo booth (not just for children).
Visitors will be spoilt for choice with fifty stalls offering jewellery, food, bags, scarves, candles, tea, pottery, health and beauty products, wooden toys and more. The participation of local artisans from Greece, China, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Venezuela, Hungary, Japan, Austria, United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Malaysia, Canada, Vietnam and, of course, Malta, ensures a truly international flavour. The members of AIWM are presenting stalls with locally handcrafted goods, colourful woven bags and baskets from Borneo, home-baked goodies and bric-a-brac treasures, among others.
The fair will start at 10am and run right through to 5pm. There is non stop entertainment throughout the afternoon.
At 12pm we are delighted to welcome our first performance of the day presented by Lori Glori, Gospel and Soul Singer from USA, accompanied by Mireille McKay.
We will also be joined by local jazz group, The Offbeat Quartet, who will perform at 1pm and finish off with some festive Christmas music at 4pm.
During the music breaks, there will be Greek dancing presented by the Traditional Greek Dance Team of the Hellenic Society of Malta.
The China Cultural Centre will present dances by the Sunrise Dance Group and other demonstrations.
The InterContinental will host a bar for both eats and drinks.
Companies and individuals throughout Malta are generously providing prizes galore – from a ham and a Christmas cake, through to dozens of raffle prizes. The fabulous main raffle prize is a return flight for two people to Vienna, compliments of Air Malta, with two night’s accommodation at the InterContinental Vienna.
All proceeds from the fair will go to AIWM’s chosen charities, The Karl Vella Foundation and the SOAR Service of the St Jeanne Antide Foundation.
Entrance is Free.
