Kim Smith

President

Kim is an American who has lived in Malta for nearly seven years with her husband, Richard, and their cat, Paci.  She acquired both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in psychology with additional post-graduate work in Business, Human Resources Management and Organizational Communication.  Prior to retirement, Kim held executive HR positions in both the public and private sectors.

Over a period of 20 years, she has served on boards of directors for several civic, business, political, social welfare, and economic development organizations.  She also had the honor to serve as President of five of those organizations.  In her roles, her focus in each organization was on strategic planning, organizational structure, and building relationships.

 Kim had the pleasure of working with Tal-Kaltura, the volunteer arm of Valletta 2018, European Capital of Culture.  She has served on the AIWM Board of Directors as Treasurer and Vice President.   She also enjoys traveling and being near, at, on, in, or under the water.
